Arts and Environment Group |
The real purpose of the Art and Environment Group is to collectively
reflect, discuss and express in creative ways to our Christian community
the meaning of each liturgical season of the year.
To
attain our goals, we have on-going initiatives within the church proper to hopefully
make St. Theresa's environment more accommodating and liturgically oriented.
We wish to enhance St. Theresa's as a welcoming, proclaming, discerning
and ministering community to all those who come through our doors.
We have completed
the following projects 1. Identified the Baptismal area 2. Replaced the
carpet in the foyer 3. Created an increase in the gathering space in the back
of the church by removing limiting structures
4. Replaced the benches used by the choir with stackable chairs to allow
for flexibility in that area
5.
Changed the Alter and chair to better reflect the proportions of our sanctuary 6.
The votive candle table and Holy Water containers were resurfaced
7. Thru the use of banners the Lenten journey was displayed in a progressive
manneri
Future endeavors include
1. Changes in the size and structure of the lectern keeping with the other
items in the sanctuary
2. Changing the Tabernacle to a wooden structure with an electric candle
3. Additions to the outside with landscaping 4.
Update signage 5. Change to our statues
